UGANDA GORILLA TRACKING AND CHIMPANZEE TOUR (5 DAYS)

Day 1: Chimpanzee tracking – Kibale Forest National Park
Take your breakfast and transfer to Kibale forest national park en route Fort Portal for your lunch and arrive at Ndali Safari Lodge for an evening nature walk to the crater lakes. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Safari lodge/Mountain of the moon Hotel (FB)

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking Tour
Take an early breakfast and transfer to the Kibale park headquarters for a briefing and immediately undertake a chimpanzee tracking tour in the forest. Meet many other primate species such as L’Hoest’s monkey, Grey-cheeked mangabeys, black-and-white monkeys, bushbabies and olive baboons. Utilize the afternoon to travel to Bigodi Wetland sanctuary for excellent birding. This community-based project is rich in special birds endemic to this place such as Papyrus Gonolek, Papyrus Canary, and White-winged Warbler. Dinner and overnight at Ndali lodge or Rwenzori Travelers Inn FB)

Day 3: Ishasha – Bwindi Gorilla Tour
After a morning breakfast transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park located in South Western Uganda. Arriving early enough for your lunch, relax at the lodge in the afternoon or go for a forest walk. A total of 350 bird species have been recorded, which is relatively a high figure since the park lacks waterbirds. Of special interest to birders are 23 species endemic to the Albertine Rift, and at least 14 species found nowhere else in Uganda, including the African Green Broadbill, Brown-necked Parrot, Frazer’s eagle owl, white-tailed blue flycatcher and white-bellied robin chat. There are over 200 butterfly species in Bwindi. Butterfly watchers can be able to identify more than 50 varieties in a day. Dinner and Overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas (FB)

Day 4 Gorilla Trekking Tour
As early as 8.00 am arrive at the park headquarters for a briefing from the park rangers. At 9.00 am commence the gorilla trekking activity following the gorilla trails deep in the thick forest. The time taken to encounter the gorillas ranges between 2 and 8 hours, and at times a full day depending on the movement of these awesome apes on a particular day. In the evening undertake a community walk to the local beer brewers and to the pygmy community for a cultural performance. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas (FB)

Day 5: Bwindi Gorilla Forest - Kampala
After breakfast, depart for Kampala, arriving late afternoon.
